Documentation Engineer Professional - Taranto
Join the Vestas Blade Processes team as a Documentation Engineer.
This full-time position supports the Logistics & Handling documentation for wind turbine blades across Sites/Factories, focusing on modern documentation principles, standardization, and fast updates to enable process stability and improved business performance along with Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC).
Responsibilities
Creation and updating documentation for Shopfloor / Logistic teams (workers, quality, and logistic teams) within Handling & Logistic operations.
Ensure updated documentation is available where needed.
Adhere to the documented documentation principles.
Engage with shop floors and logistic teams to collect feedback on the function and quality of the documentation delivered.
Perform internal quality checks of the documentation.
Perform internal maturity checks against documented criteria.
Keep stakeholders informed about documentation lead times.
Develop training material for reading and using the documentation package.
Collaborate with documentation specialists from other teams and share lessons learned.
Contribute to building a culture of excellence, innovation, and accountability.
Focus on modern documentation systems and materials, including process vision, laser systems, and other digital enabling systems.
Investigate and solve production issues using structured methods (e.g., 5x Whys, Fishbone Diagrams).
Apply continuous improvement principles using quality tools like Lean to reduce waste, improve efficiency, and ensure final product quality.
Education
Bachelor in Engineering or equivalent
Knowledge of Lean (GB lean)
Courses in Technical Writing or Communication
Experience
Approximately 6 years of experience in similar roles
Worked with
Create process flows
Establish and maintain work instructions (paper or digital)
Validation of own work
Participation in development of Handling & Logistic documentation
Experience in a data-driven organization
Optimization and standardization within manufacturing documentation using the toolbox mentioned above
Important skills
Proficient writing and communication: ability to simplify complex information
Technical skills relevant to Logistic documentation, including transportation and storage systems, production processes, or software systems; ability to translate technical jargon into user-friendly language
Attention to detail; accuracy is critical for operations or compliance
Willingness to spend time in the factory environment to understand and solve problems
Data-driven decision making
Use of tools like 5 Whys and Fishbone diagrams to identify and solve production issues
Self-motivated, results-oriented, with strong organizational discipline
Able to work with stakeholders across cultures and time zones
Customer-oriented with understanding of the full business value chain from a customer perspective
