The project : Terra Innovatum's mission is to make nuclear power accessible. We deliver simple and safe micro-reactor solutions that are scalable, affordable, and deployable anywhere, 1 MWe at a time. You will be joining a fast-growing scaleup developing SOLO – a micro modular reactor – capable of providing clean energy and radioisotopes where needed. You will support the reactor licensing process in the US initially. You will support the founding team to scale up to a leading tech company supplying vital energy solutions globally. What you will be working on Terra Innovatum Civil Engineer and Layout Architect will be responsible for: Designing, analyzing, and maintaining the structural integrity and safety of nuclear power plants, research facilities, and related infrastructure. Ensuring compliance with regulatory codes, performing structural assessments, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams for plant construction, maintenance, and upgrades. What you will be in charge of : Designing and analyzing structural components for nuclear facilities, including containment buildings, cooling towers, and support structures. Ensuring compliance with NRC regulations, ASME BPVC, ACI standards, and others. Performing load calculations, seismic analysis, and stress assessments. Overseeing construction projects, ensuring safety and regulatory compliance. Conducting inspections, failure analyses, and maintenance assessments. Collaborating with other engineers to integrate structural components with plant systems. Assisting in licensing and regulatory documentation. Supporting modifications, retrofits, and decommissioning projects. Using civil engineering software (e.g., STAAD.Pro, SAP2000, ANSYS) for structural modeling. Providing technical guidance to teams and contractors. Who we want to work with : Education: Master’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or related field. Experience: 3-7 years in civil or structural engineering, preferably in nuclear or industrial projects. Certifications (Preferred): PE license, SE certification, or equivalent. Strong knowledge of structural analysis, reinforced concrete, and steel design. Proficiency in civil engineering software. Understanding seismic analysis, radiation shielding, and nuclear materials. Experience with NRC regulations and nuclear safety principles. Strong problem-solving and teamwork skills. Attention to detail and commitment to safety. Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines. Excellent communication skills in English. Preferred : IPO experience. Fluency in Italian (written and spoken).
