Job Description:
RDM Group is looking for a Mill Health & Safety Officer to join the team based in Santa Giustina (BL), Italy.
The Mill Health & Safety Officer collaborates with the Health & Safety Manager to ensure that prevention and protection services comply with national and local regulations related to Health & Safety policies.
The person we are looking for will also support the group’s Italian plants in achieving their targets.
Accountabilities:
1. Identify risk factors and conduct risk assessments in collaboration with the RSPP, and determine measures to ensure workplace safety and health in accordance with current legislation and company organization;
2. Draft, within their competence and in cooperation with the RSPP, preventive and protective measures and systems as per Legislative Decree 81/2008, including control systems;
3. Propose and develop safety procedures for various company activities;
4. Design information and training programs for workers;
5. Participate with management and the Mill Health & Safety Manager in health and safety consultations under Article 35 of Legislative Decree 81/2008;
6. Inform workers about job-related risks, pursuant to Article 36 of Legislative Decree 81/2008;
7. Analyze workplace accidents, create evaluation sheets, and define appropriate prevention measures, including statistical tracking;
8. Support company management and the RSPP in disputes with control bodies;
9. Visit workplaces to verify compliance with accident prevention regulations and reduce risks;
10. Coordinate selection and verification of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in collaboration with the Prevention and Protection Service Manager, considering the opinion of the Workers’ Safety Representative;
11. Supervise workers’ adherence to safety regulations, report violations promptly;
12. Ensure measures to control risk situations are adopted, especially in emergencies;
13. Instruct workers on emergency procedures, including evacuation and intervention protocols;
14. Provide information on risks, prevention, protection measures, First Aid, Fire Prevention, Evacuation procedures, and responsible persons.
Requirements
* Degree in technical studies, specializing in workers’ health & safety;
* Certifications on ASPP, health & safety, especially regarding industry-specific risks;
* At least 2 years of experience in a similar role;
* Proficiency in English, with another European language preferred;
* Willingness to travel across Italian plants;
* Strong interpersonal and presentation skills with the ability to influence others;
* Excellent problem-solving skills, flexibility;
* Hands-on attitude and strong execution skills.
