The Category Food Logistics Services plays a vital role in the IKEA supply chain by ensuring that IKEA’s food-related products are shipped, handled, and distributed professionally, securing requirements related to availability, cost, quality, and sustainability. We are now looking for a Food Demand Coordinator to join our Category Food Logistics Services team in Milan. Job Description As a Food Demand Coordinator, you will collaborate closely with various supply functions to ensure product availability for our customers by taking operational responsibility for distribution in selected markets. Working with your team in Milan, the Range Area Food in Core Business Range, and other supply chain partners, you will support IKEA retailers through operational tasks such as managing range changes, supporting commercial activities, and expansion initiatives. You will join a diverse and experienced team of colleagues who enjoy working in a fast-paced and growing organization. Your responsibilities will include: Securing operational performance in Supply Chain Operations from end-to-end, within your scope and regional team. Reviewing and providing input to supply chain partners to optimize replenishment solutions and logistics, identifying risks and deviations. Supporting Market Operations Forums with timely, fact-based communication and stakeholder management, leading initiatives for operational excellence, including distribution in emergency situations. Serving as the first point of contact for assigned retail partners on behalf of Supply Chain Operations. Analyzing data related to orders, forecasts, stock, and sales to identify and mitigate risks of shortages. Coordinating supply operations for expansion projects and new retail units. Managing product availability, including inventory levels, shelf-life, range changes, and product launches. Handling product discontinuation and new product launches. Maintaining parameters for retail and range in business solutions. Coordinating physical movement of goods and ensuring compliance during export/import, including documentation for customs. Planning and developing product labeling at Distribution Centers in coordination with relevant stakeholders. Qualifications The ideal candidate will have: Excellent communication skills, able to convey complex issues clearly and simply. Strong networking skills and experience in cross-functional collaboration and influencing decisions. Organizational skills and a commitment to high-quality results. Experience working with large datasets and developing analytics models. Energetic, driven, solution-oriented, and results-focused. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and experience with ERP systems like Infor M3 (Movex) is preferred. Adaptability and flexibility in a changing environment. A university degree in logistics, supply chain, business administration, or relevant experience. Preferably, experience in food logistics. Fluent in English.
