Purpose of the job:
The Junior Project Contract Manager (PrCM) is a key member of the project team, working closely with the Project Manager and core project team. He/she provides guidance and leadership to develop, implement, and drive contract/claim management and risk mitigation strategies aligned with Alstom’s business objectives, including extensions of time (EoTs), variation orders, and contract amendments. Ensuring proper record keeping and file preparation to support robust claim files is also part of the role.
Key accountabilities
* Ensures application of Contract, Claims and Insurance Management Manual (CCIM) and Alstom governance.
* Prepares Contract Summary, ensures it is widely communicated, and regularly updated.
* Analyzes contracts to develop and implement Contract/Claim Management Strategy Plans.
* Ensures elaboration of the Contract Data Requirement List (CDRL) by project team members, launched timely, accurately communicated, and updated.
* Monitors project progress toward contractual obligations and milestones.
* Ensures timely issuance of contractual notices to customers/partners.
* Establishes and implements project-specific commercial procedures regarding correspondence, notifications, insurance, variation requests/orders, and claims files.
* Maintains reliable filing and easy access to correspondence from and to customers/partners.
* Analyzes incoming and outgoing correspondence to manage claims and variations effectively.
* Develops project-specific processes for contract and claim management.
* Provides pragmatic commercial advice based on contractual analysis to protect Alstom’s interests.
* Records, monitors, and notifies customer/partners about claims and counterclaims, managing all supporting documentation.
* Tracks customer/partner requests for variations, change orders, and extensions of time, driving towards closure and preparing related contractual letters.
* Offers advice on risks and contractual issues, aligning with business objectives.
* Reports on contract and claims activities to project, legal, and contract management teams.
* Provides training on contract/claim management to relevant stakeholders.
* Anticipates risks associated with contract activities and proposes strategies to mitigate them.
* Collaborates with project teams to identify and leverage claim opportunities and mitigate risks.
* Provides reliable contractual and commercial analysis to management as needed.
* Travel up to 20-30% as required.
