In doing so, you will assume primary responsibility for the day-to-day supervision of the department's attorneys and staff, including trainees and claims coordinators, being responsive to the Head of Department instructions, and reporting progress to the Head of Department and/or Directors.In addition, you will maintain close personal contact with the department's clients, build strong relationships with the legal department staff, and ensure that the department's services fully meet the particular needs of each client. In addition, you will help promote the work of the company in general and the aviation department in particular, and contribute to the acquisition of new business.What will you do?Represent Oracle Solicitors in matters involving the aviation regulators.Dealing with delegated cases as required, reporting progress to the Head of Department and/or DirectorsHandling own clients or casework in whatever category their cases requireEnsuring quality of service levels and legal advice are to standard, both in respect of their own workFollowing internal methods, policies, and proceduresRemaining informed of changes in any area of specialization, such that service quality is always maintainedWorking as part of a teamPreparing for trials and other hearingsConducting legal research and gathering relevant information on a case which includes researching the facts of the case as well as identifying appropriate laws, judicial decisions, and legal articles relevant to the caseDrafting and reviewing legal documents. This can include drafting correspondence, defences, orders, witness statements, written submissions, briefs to counsel and skeleton arguments.Responding to clients' requests, emails and post in a prompt and professional manner as well as answering telephones/emails in a professional mannerTaking statements from witnesses and other parties;Assisting during trial by taking notes, preparing exhibits, preparing files, and reading court transcriptsThe work of the department consists mainly of defending compensation claims based on Regulation (EC) 261/2004, but also includes a variety of other litigation and advisory activities through all instances.
