Operations Manager/Operational Excellence Manager

Role
The candidate, reporting to the Group COO, will play a crucial role in driving the three Italian companies' industrial operations strategy – including supply chain - being the champion of customer satisfactions, ensuring the respect of assigned target and aim to keep best in class performances.
Objectives of the role:
* Maintain constant communication with managers, staff, and suppliers to ensure proper operations of the companies.
* Lead, motivate, and support a large team within a fast paced / time-sensitive and demanding environment, including career development plans for direct reports and problem resolution.
* Manage data collection for the updating of metrics to achieve productivity targets, reduce cost per unit, eliminate errors, and deliver excellent customer service.
* Work closely with quality and HSE departments to ensure that activities remain compliant.
* Oversee materials and inventory to ensure effectiveness (service level) and efficiency (inventory / logistic cost balance).
* Conduct budget reviews and report cost plans to upper management.
* Increase the efficiency of existing processes and procedures to enhance the company's internal capacity.
* Ensure that operational activities remain on time and within budget.
* Track staffing requirements, hiring new employees as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
* Focus on maintaining and improving Service Level.
* Improve operational management systems, processes and best practices.
* Purchase materials, plan and optimise inventory and oversee warehouse efficiency.
* Ensuring that organizational processes remain legally compliant with regulations and standards.
* Formulate strategic and operational objectives.
* Monitor production and quality KPIs and implement corrective actions.
* Examine KPIs and financial data and use them to improve efficiency and profitability.
* Optimize workflows and processes to save time and money.
* Manage budgets and forecasts.
* Recruit, train and supervise staff.
Key Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in operations management, business administration, industrial engineering, Mechanical Engineer, or a related field.
* Minimum of 5+ years of experience in operations coordination or plant manager, change management or corporate responsibility roles, preferably within the lighting, furniture, or manufacturing sectors.
* Proven ability to manage complex projects and cross-functional teams, with excellent problem-solving skills.
* Experience with operational excellence initiatives delivering value across multiple manufacturing plants.
* Ability to communicate in more than one language, English is a must.
* Experience in managing sustainability initiatives is a plus.
* Ability to analyze large sets of data and develop meaningful insights to drive goals or aim to exceed them.
* Excellent ability to delegate responsibilities while maintaining organizational control of manufacturing sites operations and customer service.
* Proficiency in conflict management and business negotiation processes.
* Familiarity with Health and Safety, ISO certifications and environmental management systems.
* Proficient in MS Office and data management platforms (e.g. BI tools).
