Offshore Structural Engineer
Our department works with a broad spectrum of marine projects, from feasibility studies to detailed design and Site supervision.The Marine Works teams are composed by different Departments professionals that cooperate during the Project development, such as civil and structural experts, technical and project managers, marine hydraulic specialists and construction engineers.
As Offshore Structural Engineer, in the multidisciplinary Marine project environment, you will conduct the following activities
Perform technical tasks assigned by the Project Leader, related with marine structures concept and design, verification and checking activities, in order to ensure compliance with project requirements in terms of budget, time schedule and quality standards.Interface with the other discipline specialists to gather information and coordinate activities performed inside or outside the Company.Provide technical support to Maritime Works Leader and/or Technical and Project Management in technical interface with Client.Provide technical support for the development of technological skills, for commercial aspects and for the feasibility / constructability phases.Review Contract documentation and requirements.Prepare Material Specifications for Marine Structures construction materials (e.g. geotextiles, rocks, tie-rods, piles and sheetpiles, concrete precast elements, steel reinforcement, bearings, exp. Liaise with Construction Method Department for set-up of the construction sequence to check maritime structures during both temporary and operational phasesCheck and approve subcontracted engineering documents.Prepare the scope of work and technical documentation for Marine Works contracts (e.g. dredging and reclamation, jetties, quaywalls), align the bidders technical proposals and issue the technical bid tabulationProvide technical support for field construction and provide assistance for any engineering adjustments on site.Undertake site visits and travel, as well as mid-to-long term assignment abroad as requiredStay updated with the latest industry trends, codes, and technologies, and apply them to optimize project outcomesWriting proposals, planning, and running of small to medium projectsConsistently deliver quality, accurate, and timely work
IT SkillsAdvanced familiarity with the Microsoft Office package.Advanced knowledge of software and tools for structural design (such as SAP2000, STAAD PRO, SACS and similar)Basic knowledge of geotechnical software and tools for the design of piles foundations and retaining structures (PARATIE, AMRETAIN), and familiarity with input and output from software for slopes stability and FEM analysis (SLOPE, PLAXIS, etc.)Basic knowledge of tools related to 2D drawing and 3D modeling (CAD, TEKLA STRUCTURES,
Civil engineering (structural engineering master degree)Civil engineering for risk mitigation (structural/geotechnical address)or any other Civil Engineering master degree provided that the Studies Program include all relevant exams deemed necessary to gain the experience in the specific Role investigated, or a minimum experience of 1 to 2 years is proven in the Marine Works field
