We are expanding our Italian region and seeking a Medical Affairs Manager in Italy to support growth. The role is fully remote within Italy and collaborates with the Italian & Southern European team to shape the future of healthcare.
As the Medical Affairs Manager for Vaccines, you will drive patient protection in Italy, using scientific expertise to collaborate with external and internal partners to strengthen Bavarian Nordic’s scientific footprint.
About the role: in this role, you will focus on developing professional relationships with key experts and NITAG members in disease states of strategic importance, and you will act as the subject matter expert for assigned vaccines, including cross-functional work at local and regional levels.
Responsibilities
* Develop and execute the local Medical Plan for assigned vaccines
* Support planning and execution of medical education initiatives to strengthen disease and vaccine knowledge and Bavarian Nordic’s scientific reputation
* Plan and execute insights-generating initiatives, e.g., advisory board meetings
* Review and approve local promotional material and localize global medical material
* Support medical training for marketing and sales colleagues
* Support potential investigators in submitting Investigator Initiated Studies to enhance understanding of scientific foundations and goals
* Support special projects upon request and assist with other responsibilities/projects as they arise
Background and Skills / Qualifications
* Academic degree in a life-science subject, preferably Medicine; alternatively Biology, Chemistry, or Biochemistry
* Experience as a Medical Manager, Senior Medical Science Liaison, or Senior Medical Advisor within a pharmaceutical organization
* Solid knowledge in vaccines and/or immunology
* Proficiency in English and Italian (global organization)
* Excellent verbal and written scientific communication skills; strong networking and interpersonal abilities
* Ability to interpret and explain complex scientific and medical details
* Solid knowledge of Italian pharma industry standards and guidance for promotional and non-promotional activities
* Willingness to travel domestically as required
