SITE DIRECTOR / PRODUCTION DIRECTOR - Bulk Color Cosmetics Manufacturing
Build a Site. Lead Production. Shape the Future.
An international cosmetics group is establishing a new industrial site in the Milan area (Italy), dedicated to bulk color cosmetics manufacturing (foundations, emulsions, color bases).
This is a greenfield project:
• Equipment delivery: June
• Installation: Summer
• Commissioning: September
• Ramp-up: Q4
The site will employ approximately 40–45 people and focus primarily on bulk color production (limited filling, except potential lipstick processes).
We are seeking a production-driven leader capable of securing the industrial start-up and structuring operations from the ground up.
Your Mission
You will:
Lead the industrial start-up and commissioning
Build and structure the production organization
Drive Lean Manufacturing discipline
Secure bulk color manufacturing performance
Establish operational authority on site
Over time, the role may evolve toward broader site leadership.

Technical Expertise Required (Non-Negotiable)
This role requires strong hands-on experience in color cosmetics bulk manufacturing, including:
• Colormatch management
• Viscosity and texture control
• Dispersion processes
• Pigment incorporation
• Emulsion scale-up
• Process capability and variability (CPK understanding)
If you have not worked on bulk color formulations at industrial scale, this role is likely not the right fit.
Profile
We are targeting an experienced Production Manager ready to step up.
You typically have:
• 8–15 years in cosmetic manufacturing
• Strong exposure to bulk color production
• Lean Manufacturing mindset
• Proven shopfloor leadership
• Ambition to move into broader site responsibility

Compensation
Target total package: €95,000 – €105,000 (fixed + variable).
