We work on the most challenging problems, with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain — and we’re looking for talented people who want to help. /p pYou’ll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You’ll collaborate with people across AWS to help us deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers. And you’ll experience an inclusive culture that welcomes bold ideas and empowers you to own them to completion. /p h3Key job responsibilities /h3 ul liDrive world-class quality in the Data Center to achieve the best operating, lowest cost infrastructure in the world. The QA engineer will be obsessed with quality, engineering and design continuous improvements. /li liAbility to make quick decisions with limited data based on experience and understanding of the subject matter. /li liThe QA engineer will focus on fiber optic and optic components, cabling and interconnect products, technologies and standards at this point. The scope may expand to mechanical and electrical (ME) and other mission critical components later. /li liCollaborate with the Engineering team to establish a comprehensive Global Design Standards document, Global Installation Best Practice Guidelines, and detailed Product Specifications for Inside Plant Cabling. Develop Quality Assurance manuals, manage amendments and revisions, formulate audit strategies, and define quality and operational metrics to effectively measure performance and success. /li liAudit and inspect Data Center Edge sites to ensure standards are being followed, generate punch lists, report and generate remediation plans, action and close all customer complaints and defects, provide recommendations based on product and vendor performance, continuously propose improvements to existing designs and processes. /li liConduct training sessions with local Infra Delivery Teams and any other Infra Ops organizations to ensure deployments comply with design standards and best practices. /li liCandidates must be responsive and communicate with technical teams to collect requirements and communicate with internal customers to describe features, technical designs and strategy. /li liIdentify and respond to risks and high-priority issues rapidly and effectively. /li liSupport New Product Implementation activities that improve infrastructure quality, reduce cost and installation time. /li liLocal Travel 40+% to review projects and coordinate with onsite personnel and contractors at AWS Data Centers. /li /ul pThis is an opportunity to leverage and grow your existing quality and engineering experience in an innovative and highly collaborative environment where the results of your work will directly impact AWS and its customers. /p h3A day in the life /h3 pAmazon Web Services (AWS) is a highly innovative company that collaborates across disciplines to produce new technology that changes our world. That’s why you’ll find endless knowledge‑sharing, mentorship and other career‑advancing resources here to help you develop into a better‑rounded professional. /p h3Basic Qualifications /h3 ul liHigh school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Telecommunications, or related field preferred. /li li3+ years of experience in structured cabling, inside plant (ISP) infrastructure, or data center environments. /li liKnowledge of fiber optic, copper (Cat 5e/6/6A) cabling installation standards or structured cabling systems. /li /ul h3Preferred Qualifications /h3 ul liBachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline. /li liIn-depth knowledge of ANSI/TIA-568, 569, 606, 607, ISO/IEC 11801, and NEC Articles 300 392 (or related local electrical codes). /li liFamiliarity with NEMA VE1/VE2 and IEC 61537 for cable tray construction and installation. /li liExperience conducting QA inspections in live data center environments with a focus on pathway fill ratios, cable diameter compliance, separation requirements, and firestop/fire rating compliance. /li liHands‑on knowledge of fiber splicing, fiber testing equipment (OTDR/OLTS), budget‑loss, and copper certification testing. /li /ul pOur inclusive culture empowers Amazonians to deliver the best results for our customers.
