Location: Rho, Italy (near the metro station)Contract Type: Full-time, On-siteWorking Hours: 09:00–12:45, 14:00–18:00Role DescriptionWe are seeking a Electrical Engineering Intern to support the modeling and analysis of our containerized battery systems. The intern will contribute to the development of electrical models of the battery stack and balance-of-system components, including phenomena such as shunt currents in multi-cell electrochemical stacks. The role focuses on building and refining equivalent electrical circuit models and implementing them in MATLAB/Simulink (OpenModelica) to simulate system behavior. The intern will work closely with the R&D team to compare model predictions with experimental data from laboratory and system-level tests, helping improve the understanding and accuracy of system models. The position also provides exposure to power conversion systems (PCS) and the interaction between battery systems and power electronics within a containerized energy storage architecture.ResponsibilitiesDevelop equivalent circuit models of electrochemical stacks and related electrical subsystemsSupport modeling of shunt currents and parasitic electrical paths within multi-cell systemsImplement and test models using MATLAB / SimulinkCompare simulation outputs with experimental data from laboratory and system testsCollaborate with the R&D team to refine model assumptions and parametersSupport analysis of the interaction between the battery system and power conversion systems (PCS)QualificationsMSc in Electrical Engineering or related fieldBasic knowledge of electric circuits and system modelingFamiliarity with MATLAB / Simulink or similar simulation toolsInterest in battery systems, electrochemical energy storage, or power electronicsAnalytical mindset and willingness to work with experimental data and engineering models
