Elica, headed by Chairman Francesco Casoli and led by Chief Executive Officer Giulio Cocci, has operated on the kitchen hoods market since the 1970s. Today the company has seven plants worldwide in Italy, Poland, Mexico, India and China. 3,800 employees produce 20.7 million pieces ranging from hoods to motors every year.
Elica has two core businesses areas: cooking and motors.
In the first area, Elica is the world's leading manufacturer of cooker hoods for household use. In the second area, Fime brand holds the number 1 position in Europe for the design, production and sale of electric motors for household appliances and boilers.
The cooking business unit designs, manufactures and sells kitchen hoods for domestic use, with the Elica brand as well as for the world's leading manufacturers of household appliances and kitchens. For the Asian market, the company also produces hobs, ovens and sterilisers. The motors business unit manufactures and sells electric motors for appliances, hoods and boilers for household use.
We are currently in the process of recruiting a candidate to cover a position of Junior Mechanical Engineer (Internship).
THE IMPACT:
Design the mechanical components of the product platforms, according to a logic of standardization and continuous improvement.
MAIN ACTIVITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:
* Collaborate with the cross-functional team to define the mechanical architecture of the product, in accordance with the specifications, costs and expected quality;
* Generate 3D and 2D models of components and mechanical assemblies, complete with the information necessary for industrialization and verification of their specifications;
* Support the team in defining and proposing project risk containment actions in relation to mechanical design (e.g. DFM, Risk Analysis etc.);
* Ensure that the mechanical design documentation is usable by the various company areas, collaborating with the team in the creation of the product Bill of Materials;
* Support the prototyping area in the creation of samples useful for product development, providing the relevant information in the shared timescales;
* Support the Procurement area in the assessment and collaboration with suppliers;
* Collaborate with Quality function in drafting the documentation to be shared with the customer (e.g. CTQ, etc..);
* Support, during the production ramp-up, project modification actions, if necessary;
* Draw up the necessary forms relating to the area of competence.
* Degree in Mechanical Engineering
* Fluency in both Italian and English is mandatory
* Excellent Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel)
* Knowledge of design software (PTC Creo preferred)
* Previous experience (thesis or internship) in a similar role will be considered a plus
