For the strengthening of our AI, Data & Automation team, we are looking for a Search Backend Engineer with solid experience in developing high‐performance backend services and in designing scalable search solutions based on OpenSearch or Elasticsearch. The candidate will contribute to the development of high‐performance search systems serving multiple European markets.Responsibilities:
development of high‐performance search services and robust data indexing and management pipelines;design of search schemas and query strategies for datasets containing millions of products;continuous improvement of search result relevance based on objective metrics;development and management of scalable search solutions for various European markets;collaboration in the development of a modular search architecture, contributing to its evolution together with the team.
Required qualifications:
degree in Computer Science or equivalent education, or proven experience in backend development;strong skills in backend development and in building performant and scalable services and APIs;hands‐on experience with Python development;operational experience with OpenSearch or Elasticsearch for designing, implementing, and managing search solutions;familiarity with distributed systems, cloud environments, and preferably AWS;knowledge of search concepts (indexes, mappings, query design) and experience in monitoring, scaling, and tuning search systems;excellent communication skills in English, with an aptitude for collaboration with international and cross‐functional teams.
Nice to have:
experience with large‐scale cloud environments;knowledge of additional backend languages or frameworks;excellent command of the German language;technical certifications in cloud or distributed architectures.
