Job ID: 10381103 | Amazon Italia Transport Srl

This role can be based in Milan (LIN15), London (LHR35), Madrid (MAD12) and Barcelona (BCN10).

As Speed Planning Lead for Southern Europe (SEU), you will take end-to-end ownership of network launches across your region from day one, co-owning strategic initiatives with senior leadership and exercising sound judgement to ensure launch plans are aligned with operational readiness. You will lead high-impact projects—from Nexus launches to Same Day Cycles acceleration—partnering across first mile, middle mile, and AMZL teams to drive network speed optimization and customer experience improvements.

You will serve as the primary point of contact for securing all approvals, conducting Business Case Reviews, and obtaining sign-offs from DEX, STEP, and Operations Leadership across your region. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker who thrives in ambiguity, brings strong analytical rigour, and is passionate about delivering results in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.

Key job responsibilities

As a Speed Planning Lead for SEU, you will take end-to-end ownership of network launches across the region from day one, co-leading strategic initiatives with senior leadership and exercising sound judgement to ensure launch plans are realistic, achievable, and aligned with operational readiness. You will lead high-impact programs including Nexus launches, Same Day Cycles acceleration, and scope extension projects, serving as the primary point of contact for securing approvals and sign-offs from Same Day, DEX, STEP, and Operations Leadership. Working cross-functionally with first mile, middle mile, and AMZL operational teams, you will drive network speed optimization, improve customer order cut-offs, and reduce delivery times across Southern Europe. You will conduct comprehensive launch readiness assessments, identifying risks and mitigation strategies ahead of go-live, while building data-driven business cases using AS IS vs. future state models that translate complex operational data into clear financial and strategic recommendations. You will present findings to senior leadership, influencing decisions with well-structured, evidence-based narratives, and continuously challenge the status quo to drive improvement across network planning processes.

A day in the life

As a Speed Planning SEU Lead, no two days look the same. You might start the morning reviewing launch readiness for an upcoming Nexus launch, then shift to a cross-functional alignment session with first mile and AMZL partners to resolve a network configuration challenge. You are comfortable operating with ambiguity, confident working with large datasets, and energised by the opportunity to shape the network strategy that directly impacts customer experience across Southern Europe. You bring strong communication skills, a bias for action, and the ability to influence without authority across a complex, fast-moving organisation.

About the team

The Speed Planning Team drives network expansion and optimization across EU5, owning all Last-Mile network launches end-to-end. The team partners with senior leadership and serves as the primary point of contact for securing approvals and sign-offs from Same Day, DEX, STEP, and Operations Leadership. We lead strategic launch initiatives—including Nexus launches, Same Day Cycles, and scope extension projects—while collaborating across first mile, middle mile, and AMZL operational teams to optimize network speed, improve customer cut-offs, and enhance the delivery experience.
