Position summary We are looking for an
Application Software Engineer in Rivoli (TO). The candidate will support the development of application-level software for high performance passenger car applications. This role could be your next rewarding challenge, based in the Dana Rivoli plant, we offer a fast-paced, challenging and diverse role, focused on project delivery for the right candidate.
After an initial training in Dana Rivoli (IT) and Lindley (UK) plants, the candidate will support SW and Calibration Development activities for both Vehicle and Test rig, with the target of delivery electrified System for vehicles equipped with Dana powershifting transmissions.
The Application Software Engineer activities will be based on Rivoli Plant (IT), the candidate will report to Lead Engineer Application Software.
The Application SW Engineer can also be involved in "on-field" activities, such as cold/winter testing, hot/summer testing, and altitude testing.

You will be identified as the primary interface for powertrain development (SW and HW), calibration (tuning) and vehicle validation activities between OEMs and Dana teams.
You will be involved in a high-tech Transmission development team.
You will work in a close relationship with TOP CAR OEMs, with remote or local activities (travels up to 1 week per month).
Main responsibilities
You will be part of an experienced and growing team, responsible for delivering application software for customer projects into electrified powertrains. With focus on understanding Transmission System drivability and vehicle integration issues, interfaces and transmission control, ideally Dual Clutch Transmissions.
Involved in project delivery being primary interface between OEM and Dana teams
Elicit and implement requirements from design to production
Support development activities to commission, debug and optimize electrified powershifting transmission systems
Involved in validation / verification / test programs for embedded systems to ensure designs are fit for purpose, including Functional Safety aspects
Progressive responsibility and hands-on experience with vehicle system architectures and control system applications
"On-field" activities, such as cold/winter testing, hot/summer testing, and altitude testing
Job position requirements Education: University master’s degree - Mechatronic, Mechanical or Automotive Engineering or a related field
Professional background
Minimum of 5 years (Senior) in engineering field related to software development and/or powertrain calibration
Experience with vehicle testing with ability to understand and solve drivability issues or customer complaints
Experience of algorithm design & implementation in model-based environment using Matlab/Simulink or Ascet-SD
Vehicle and/or test-rig based development experience
Vehicle and controller communication networks, e.g. CAN, CAN-FD, J1939, XCP
A good awareness of Functional Safety
Knowledge of the fundamentals of automated transmission and electrified powertrain control
Experience of transmission software delivery, testing and engineering sign-off.
Knowledge of calibration tools (ideally CANape)
Have a good understanding of the interface and interactions between electrical and mechanical systems
The ability to solve engineering problems using a structured, logical approach
Proficient in English and Italian.
Considered as a plus:
Previous experience of dual clutch transmissions
Good understanding of the interfaces and interactions of Mechatronics Systems

Diagnostic protocol knowledge: UDS
