Global Procurement Project Manager - Ceramic f/d (Lucerne, Switzerland) role at Mohawk Industries. We are looking for a Senior Procurement Project Manager with strong technical expertise in ceramic tile manufacturing and project management to join our Center of Excellence (COE) of Mohawk Group, based in Root (Lucerne).
The Procurement Center of Excellence (COE) is a strategic team that advises, influences, and enables outcomes supporting procurement strategy. It identifies and implements best practices and delivers data/analytical insights for key decisions across the enterprise.
What you’ll do
* Lead procurement projects in ceramics, applying data-driven approaches and ceramic tile process expertise to implement best practices, methodologies, and models.
* Manage projects, drive efficiency improvements, perform data analytics, and conduct value stream mapping analyses.
* Collaborate with global Ceramic teams and coordinate specific projects in the Global Ceramic division of Mohawk Group (Marazzi Group, Dal-Tile US, Dal-Tile Mexico, Mohawk Brazil, etc.).
* Coordinate and support global efficiency projects in procurement activities, including cost initiatives and complexity reduction in main ceramic cost categories (Materials, Glazes, Consumables, MRO, Spare parts, etc.). Ability to manage projects in complex environments will be critical.
* Perform category analysis and leverage insights to drive cost optimization efforts.
* Support local procurement teams in different parts of the world.
* Leverage deep ceramic experience and a data-driven approach to identify value creation opportunities.
* Identify sourcing opportunities and develop strategic sourcing plans.
* Manage sourcing events, including RFx material preparation, bid analysis, and overall event coordination.
* Conduct should-cost modeling, competitive benchmarking, and identify alternative materials and savings opportunities.
* Execute supply market research and generate insights relevant to assigned categories and projects.
* Ensure compliance with internal documentation and processes.
* Be a key point of contact with the Marazzi group.
What we’re looking for
* Experience and expertise in Ceramic Tile industries (or similar industries) with knowledge in process & manufacturing
* Bachelor or higher degree in Engineering, Chemical, Supply chain, or related fields; Procurement is a plus
* 7+ years of work experience in Ceramic Tile manufacturing environment
* Ability to effectively operate in a matrix-driven organization, through collaboration and influencing.
* Proven experience in project management in international environment and delivering projects and categories (complexity reduction, value engineering) in a complex organization, value stream mapping.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a knack for analyzing complex data, identifying trends, and generating actionable insights.
* Drive for Results - Communicates persuasively to win support, minimizes or removes barriers that get in the way of achieving results, and leverages understanding of key business drivers to get results.
* Do-er mindset and support mindset
* Ability to thrive both independently and as part of a collaborative team in a fast-paced environment
* Strong digital acumen and Excel skills are crucial
* Fluent spoken and written English; Italian & Spanish a plus
* Frequent travel to entities in Italy, US, Brazil, Mexico is expected, with potential stays of a few weeks.
