Overview
The Network Engineer in the OT (Operational Technology) space for hyperscale customers is a critical technical role responsible for participating in the design, implementation, and operation of the network infrastructure that supports OT systems within large-scale data centers. This position involves ensuring the performance, security, and reliability of network connections that underpin the organization's OT infrastructure, including Building Management Systems (BMS), Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS), and other critical systems.
Key responsibilities include deploying, configuring, and maintaining network hardware and software, implementing security measures, and troubleshooting network issues. The Network Engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams, including IT, engineering, and operations, to ensure seamless integration and operation of network solutions that support OT systems. Additionally, the role involves staying current with industry trends and advancements to drive innovation and continuous improvement in network management.
Candidates should have extensive experience in network engineering, particularly in data center or similar high-demand environments. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to work effectively in a dynamic and complex OT environment.
Responsibilities
* Design, implement, and maintain network infrastructure for OT systems.
* Ensure the performance, security, and reliability of network connections for OT systems.
* Deploy, configure, and manage CISCO network devices
* Deploy, configure, and maintain network hardware and software, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
* Implement and manage security measures for network infrastructure.
* Troubleshoot and resolve network issues.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and operation of network solutions for OT systems.
* Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in network management.
* Develop and maintain technical documentation for network configurations and procedures.
* Conduct regular network performance assessments and maintenance to ensure optimal performance.
* Support the continuous improvement of network management processes.
* Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations.
Qualifications
* Experience in network engineering, particularly in data centers or similar environments.
* Hands-on experience with Cisco technologies.
* Familiarity with OT systems - including BMS, EPMS, SCADA, PLCs and HMIs - is considered a plus
* Proficiency in network design and implementation, including LAN/WAN, firewalls, switches, routers, and wireless networking.
* Experience with network protocols and technologies, such as TCP/IP, VLANs, VPN, and MPLS.
* Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
* Knowledge of network security measures and best practices.
* Experience in developing technical documentation and providing technical support.
* Ability to manage network performance assessments and maintenance processes.
* Understanding of industry standards and regulatory compliance requirements (e.g., ISO, SOC2, PCI-DSS).
