Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Electrical Commissioning Engineer to support the delivery and commissioning of a large-scale data centre project in Milan. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all electrical systems are installed, tested, and commissioned in accordance with project specifications, industry standards, and client requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Plan, coordinate, and execute commissioning activities for electrical systems, including:
Medium and low voltage distribution systems UPS systems and battery installations Standby generators and associated controls Switchgear, transformers, and protection systems Earthing and lightning protection systems
Develop and review commissioning plans, method statements, and procedures Liaise with design teams, subcontractors, vendors, and client representatives Witness and validate factory acceptance tests (FAT) and site acceptance tests (SAT) Ensure proper integration and testing of electrical systems with mechanical and BMS systems Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during commissioning phases Maintain detailed commissioning records, reports, and documentation Ensure all activities comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations Support handover processes, including training and documentation for operations teams Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field Minimum 5–8 years of experience in electrical commissioning, preferably on data centre or mission-critical projects Strong knowledge of international standards (IEC, ISO) and commissioning best practices Experience working for a general contractor or commissioning agent on large-scale construction projects Familiarity with data centre infrastructure, redundancy (N+1, 2N), and reliability requirements Proficient in reading and interpreting electrical schematics and technical drawings Skills & Competencies
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent communication and coordination abilities Ability to work under pressure and meet tight project deadlines Detail-oriented with a strong focus on quality and safety Proficient in MS Office and commissioning/documentation tools Languages
English (required) Italian (preferred) Working Conditions
Site-based role in Milan with potential extended working hours during critical commissioning phases May require occasional travel to vendor sites for FAT inspections Reporting Line
