PstrongAPPLICATION CLOSING DATE: August 9th, 2025 /strong /ppbr / /ppHuman Technopole (HT) is an interdisciplinary life science research institute, created and supported by the Italian Government, with the aim of developing innovative strategies to improve human health. HT is composed of five Centers: Neurogenomics, Computational Biology, Structural Biology, Genomics, and Health Data Science. The Centers work together to enable interdisciplinary research and to create an open, collaborative environment that will help promote life science research both nationally and internationally. /ppbr / /ppstrongAbout the Group /strong /ppThe Taverna group studies brain development and evolution, focusing on the role of intracellular traffic and protein glycosylation in neural stem cells. /ppbr / /ppstrongInternship Project Description /strong /ppWe study how traffic and glycosylation affect neural stem cell behavior and brain development by merging basic cell biology and robotics for single cell manipulation in tissue. To understand how traffic and glycosylation affect brain development, we leverage the genetics of Congenital Disorders of Glycosylation (CDGs), a group of rare diseases where alterations in the secretory pathway is associated with derailed neurodevelopment and subsequent neurological manifestations. In this internship’s project the candidate will model the neurodevelopmental aspects of CDGs with a specific focus on neuronal stem cells’ cell biology and proliferation/differentiation balance. /ppbr / /ppstrongKey tasks and activities /strong /ppModelling neurodevelopmental aspects and neurological manifestations of CDGs using human iPSCs-derived organoids. This task includes cell culture, iPSCs maintenance, organoid culture and cell multi-modal cell phenotyping. /ppbr / /ppstrongEssential requirements /strong /pulliA Master#39;s Degree in Biology (or relevant topic for this project); /liliExperience with cell culture work; /liliBackground in neurobiology; /liliExperience with immunofluorescence and light microscopy; /liliFluency in English - HT is an international research institute. /li /ulpbr / /ppstrongPreferred requirements /strong /pulliExperience with 2D or 3D iPSCs-derived systems to model human disorders /liliA background in cell biology and/or molecular biology /li /ulpbr / /ppstrongOrganizational and social skills /strong /pulliExcellent communication and team working skills; /liliAbility to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment and to work independently; /liliAbility to work in a multi-cultural, multi-ethnic environment with sensitivity and respect for diversity. /li /ulpbr / /ppstrongApplication Instructions /strong /pullia CV /lilia motivation letter in English /liliFor specific enquires concerning the role only, please contact the Talent Acquisition Team, /li /ulpbr / /ppstrongWhy Human Technopole /strong /ppHT seeks scientific excellence, we recruit the best scientific talents through international, open calls. /ppOur working environment is international, friendly and inclusive.
