Your contribution to Prysmian's Success: We are looking for an Offshore Superintendent to join our office in Milan HQ. This role involves both Deputy Offshore Manager in the offshore installation sites and partial involvement as Installation Engineer in the office work.
ResponsibilitiesMarine Operations Superintendent – Offshore Installation Sites
* Preliminary works: route clearance, PLGR, pre‑lay burial runs, mobilization of vessels
* Cable loading and laying
* Cable burial with a wide variety of tools/machines
* Cable pulling through HDD conduits or onto offshore platforms
* Cable repair and jointing
* Technical/Quality management and installation procedures in compliance with specifications and project documentation
* Health and Safety for all personnel and reporting to the installation team
* Environmental compliance to preserve the environment and prevent pollution
* Company Asset Care: preliminary verification of test/certification, correct use during operations, and adherence to predefined maintenance for all assets, from vessels and burial/subsea machines to installation equipment and tools
* Define, select, and prepare installation assets (vessels, burial machines, general installation equipment)
* Project constraints and specification compliance, including specific contract clauses
* Operative schedule: efficiency and respect of plans
* Client relationship care, working with Client representatives present on site
* Supervision of subcontractors during the installation phase, covering technical, quality, HSE, and contract aspects
* Interface with Installation Department Management and other company departments (Project Management, Manufacturing, System Engineering, Quality) for regular, suitable, and correct reporting
Installation Engineer – Office Work
* Limited office-based days in Milan between offshore assignments, primarily dedicated to preparing documentation, consolidating reports, and ensuring necessary internal coordination while remaining centered on offshore operational activities
Qualifications
* Fluent in English and Italian
* Preferably a technical background in Engineering Technology or related subjects
* Availability to spend 60/70% of the time traveling offshore
* Preferably experience in the installation of submarine cable or in the construction industry
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Decision‑making attitude, critical thinking, and problem‑solving skills
* Strong teamwork skills, results‑oriented and ambitious mindset
* Participation in Prysmian’s dedicated training and development process within Marine Operations
