The Mission
\nCustomer Data is a key engineering domain within ING Bank NL, responsible for the systems that store, update, and expose customer information across the entire bank. Every product domain, like Payments, Daily Banking, Lending, Mortgages, Business Banking, depends on our APIs and services to function correctly.\n
Our teams design and maintain customer‑data capabilities used in all digital and assisted channels. This includes identity details, addresses, mandates, roles, and other critical datasets. We focus on high availability, low latency, strong data consistency, and secure access patterns.
\n
You will work in mixed Romania-Netherlands teams, collaborating directly with Dutch engineers on services that handle high traffic, strict regulatory requirements, and complex business logic.
\n
Our engineers usually like this role because it offers direct collaboration with Dutch engineering teams, ownership over core banking data services, the opportunity to influence architecture and long‑term system direction, work on stable, long‑lived services with meaningful complexity and a strong engineering culture with a clear emphasis on code quality, testing and maintainability.
