Quality procurement manager (SCQ) role at Thales Permanent responsibility: The SCQ manager shall assure the quality of space equipment and products purchased from external suppliers within specific projects. Standards & Requirements
Knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, EN 9100, AQAP 2110, and ECSS requirements. Ensure conformity of products with EC directives (CE marking, WEE, RoHS), the Reach Regulation, and ECSS series Q.
Location Torino or Roma Task Description
Ensure quality aspects of purchased items across electrical, RF, mechanical, propulsion, and ground support equipment throughout the entire life cycle. Involved in the proposal phase: upstreaming, supplier selection (TEB/PVET activities), verification and negotiation of RFPs, ensuring compliance with customer quality requirements and technical specifications. Participate in subcontractor reviews across the program (KO to manufacturing, testing, delivery). Manage equipment qualification status reviews (EQSR) and support design reviews. Monitor supplier during manufacturing, testing, and delivery—ensuring on‑time delivery (OTD) and on‑quality delivery (OQD). Manage quality matters during manufacturing and qualification test campaigns, coordinate the delivery review board (DRB), and manage deviations, waivers, and alerts.
General Skills
Manage mandatory inspection points and major non‑conformities with strong problem‑solving techniques. Manage deviations, waivers, alerts, and prepare progress reports. Coordinate quality‑assurance disciplines throughout proposal, design, production, test, and delivery phases.
Qualifications
Master’s degree or PhD in a relevant scientific subject. Fluency in English (written and verbal). Excellent knowledge of Italian. Strong teamwork attitude.
