Our Division of Regional Ocean Forecasting Systems (ROFS), part of the Institute for Earth System Predictions, seeks a new Operations DevOps Software Engineer to support our ocean forecasting activities. We foster a professional, inclusive environment that values diversity and innovation. /ph3ROLE /h3pThe Operations DevOps Software Engineer will be responsible for operational procedures related to ocean forecasting systems, including monitoring and managing data repositories. /ph3RESPONSIBILITIES /h3ulliImplement, maintain, and monitor operational chains, including validation and visualization systems. /liliEnsure data consistency of operational inputs and outputs. /liliDesign and develop automatic monitoring and alerting systems. /liliCreate automatic procedures for data consistency checks. /liliBuild CI/CD pipelines for deployment of operational chains. /liliDevelop disaster recovery actions for operational failures. /li /ulh3REQUIREMENTS /h3ulliM.Sc. in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or related fields (or equivalent experience). /liliProficiency with Linux OS and command line. /liliExperience with scripting languages (Python, Bash, Go, etc.). /liliKnowledge of version control systems (git). /li /ulpPreferred skills include knowledge of HPC architectures, workflow management platforms (Cylc, Luigi), NetCDF data management, containerization tools (Docker, Singularity), and system administration.
