And you’ll experience an inclusive culture that welcomes bold ideas and empowers you to own them to completion. /p pAmazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for a highly motivated Regional Chief Engineer (CE) to join our Data Center Engineering Operations (DCEO) Team. This committed group works to maintain the critical physical infrastructure that supports AWS. Specifically, this team works to ensure the safe and secure operation of the data center's Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) infrastructure to provide 99.999% availability for our customers. In this specific case, High Voltage Sub-Station (HVSS) experience is at a premium given the infrastructure layout of the PHX region. /p pThe Regional CE is responsible for ensuring that all MEP equipment within the region is operating at peak efficiency. This involves planned preventative maintenance of equipment, daily corrective work, and emergency response. The Regional CE serves as an expert technical resource interacting with on-site Engineering Operations Technicians (EOT), CEs, Facility Managers (FM), and third party vendors. /p pThe Regional CE also manages medium-to-large projects and programs from conception to completion. These projects and programs involve large amounts of independent work, as well as, collaboration with external support groups including engineering, automation, processing, and finance in both local and global settings. The goals of such projects are for the Regional CE to drive innovation and resiliency while reducing operational costs in the facilities. /p h3Key Job Responsibilities /h3 ul liOversee the day-to-day operations and maintenance of mechanical and electrical equipment in a data center, to include HVSS /li liOperate independently with limited direct management /li liAct as an escalation point for all facilities-related issues within the region /li liPerform root cause analysis of equipment failures /li liCreate and deploy new standard practices for EOTs, CEs, and vendor support teams /li liProvide training and guidance to EOTs, CEs, and FMs /li liEnsure all safety procedures are adhered to by vendor and Amazon staff /li liCommunicate complex technical information to a non-technical audience /li liWork cross-functionally across teams to effect cluster-wide performance improvement with our internal and external partners by designing and implementing processes, metrics, and programs that enhance the end to end employee experience /li liCollaborate effectively across teams to define strategy, goals, and obtain commitment to timelines and deliverables /li /ul h3About the Team /h3 pDiverse Experiences. The base pay for this position ranges from $98,700/year in our lowest geographic market up to $210,800/year in our highest geographic market.
