We are looking for a Technical Expertto work on advancing the W46-TS, Wärtsilä's newest and most innovative large bore engine. We highly value candidates with extensive experience on different types of engines and a technical background oriented towards R&D and analysis.

The preferred locations for this position are Trieste (Italy) and Turku (Finland) to be considered.
Your role and responsibilities

As Technical Expert, your work will focus on these responsibilities:
1. Provide high-level engine expert support to both internal and external customers.
2. Implement product improvements and create detailed product documentation.
3. Conduct field testing of new products.
4. Analyse feedback and compile comprehensive product reports.
5. Perform site surveys and troubleshoot issues in the field.
6. Collaborate with other technical departments to follow up and resolve problems.
7. Act as an innovative expert within Wärtsilä's expert organization.
Requirements for the position
8. BSc or MSc in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
9. Strong motivation and genuine interest in working with 4-stroke engines.
10. Preferably prior experience with 4-stroke engines, related auxiliary equipment, troubleshooting, or performance analyses in the field.
11. Excellent communication, customer orientation, and self-management abilities.
12. Proficient in analysis and reporting.
13. Flexible attitude, openness to learning, and adapting to new technologies.
14. Proactive, systematic, and organized approach to tasks.
15. Proficient in English, both oral and written.
16. Willingness and flexibility to travel on a short notice for up to 30% of the time, trips can often be arranged at short notice reacting to operational needs.
