Job role System Administrator Location Ispra (On site) Languages required English (B2) MANDATORY Rate 340-365€/day Mandatory qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in IT or related field 15+ years of working experience in IT ITIL Certification Description Responsibilities Provision of IT Support services for the development and operation of the local IT environments for the project SuFiA (JRC.D.2) Collaboration with the Directorate D ICT Team to manage and develop ICT centralized service Installation, configuration and maintenance of servers' operating systems Performing minor (patching) and major Operating System upgrades as requested, in compliance with the Commission IT security policies and best practices Performing preliminary diagnosis of software and hardware problems, also in co ordination with the central IT departments Scripting & configurations in context of systems & infrastructure; install, configure and maintain system scripting procedures Handling of backups and restore operations of systems & infrastructure; manage the specific SuFiA backup infrastructure Administration of scientific users in line with JRC ICT policies Monitoring of and responding to system and application logs (error logs, disk checks, virus malware checks) Maintaining technical documentation Provision of capacity planning analysis. Performing tuning activities when required On demand restore customer files from the backup system Maintain and monitor the storage systems (log analysis to ensure availability and correct performance) Keep up to date the managed asset inventory Coordinate with the JRC IT services for the provisioning of users, hardware, network connectivity and software Coordinate with JRC Helpdesk for the central IT service requests Provide first level/second level
