As part of our pre-opening team, we’re looking for a dedicated Safety & Security Manager to help build and establish our security, health, and safety procedures from the ground up. This is a unique opportunity to be a key player in setting up the systems and protocols that will shape the safety culture at Corinthia Rome. You will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of health, safety, and security across the property, ensuring full compliance with Italian legislation and Corinthia’s global standards. This role is critical in ensuring that our guests and employees enjoy a safe and secure environment while maintaining the seamless, high-quality service Corinthia is known for. What You’ll Do: Take charge of the hotel’s security, health, and safety operations, ensuring the highest standards are met in compliance with both Italian law and Corinthia’s global standards. You will be the go-to person for all safety and security matters within the property. Conduct regular and thorough security risk assessments, updating security and safety plans accordingly to mitigate risks. You’ll also coordinate periodic security, health, and safety audits to identify potential hazards and liabilities. Play a central role in developing, implementing, and updating emergency procedures for a range of scenarios, including natural disasters, fires, bomb threats, and social unrest. You’ll also coordinate regular evacuation exercises to ensure staff readiness and compliance with safety protocols. Develop and deliver comprehensive security and safety training programs to employees at all levels, ensuring that everyone understands the importance of maintaining a safe and secure environment. You’ll identify any training gaps and work to address them. Regularly review and update the hotel’s security, health, and safety policies, procedures, and manuals. You’ll ensure they align with the latest legal requirements, best practices, and the evolving needs of the property. Coordinate with various departments to ensure security and safety measures are seamlessly integrated across all functions of the hotel. This includes working closely with contractors, security personnel, and department heads to ensure compliance with safety regulations. Address and resolve any security or safety concerns raised by guests or employees. Whether it’s a security incident or a health-related issue, you’ll act swiftly to ensure the safety of all stakeholders. In the event of any safety or security incidents, you’ll investigate the root cause, analyse data from incident reports, and work alongside the relevant teams to develop corrective and preventive action plans. What We’re Looking For: Proven experience in security and occupational health & safety, preferably in a hospitality environment. Strong knowledge of Italian workplace safety legislation (D.Lgs 81/08) and other applicable laws. Strong communication abilities in both English and Italian, with the capacity to convey technical information clearly to diverse teams and senior leadership.
