RINA is currently recruiting for a Senior Project Engineer: Chief Resident Engineer (Railway System) to join its offices in United Arab Emirates and Bangladesh within the Project Engineering Division. Mission We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Chief Resident Engineer Railway (System) with a strong interdisciplinary background in System Engineering, RAM, and Safety Assurance for large-scale railway and mobility infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating technical activities across multiple subsystems, ensuring compliance with international standards, and supporting the integration of safety and reliability processes throughout the project lifecycle. Key Accountabilities Coordinate with Interface Management Lead Specialist. Manage and supervise all railway electrical and system staff, including signalling, telecommunications, SCADA, and OCC. AFC, PSD, PIS, PAS, TVS, ECS, Fire Protection Water and Drainage systems, substations, power distribution systems, overhead contact systems, Rolling stock, depot equipment, etc. Assist Interface Management Lead Specialist to ensure detailed design, specifications, standards, and codes proposed by the Railway System Contractor(s) comply with the Employer’s Requirements and Contract documents. Assist in coordinating among the Contractors to establish design criteria for interfacing and integrating/harmonising. Assist the Client in design interface coordination and recommend measures to eliminate or mitigate conflicts, aiming for seamless integration in construction, operation, and maintenance. Monitor the performance of Railway System Contractors and their Subcontractors through suitable arrangements with specialists and engineers. Education Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Civil Engineering. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or Equivalent. Professional qualification as an electrical or mechanical engineer or applicable professional qualifications. 20 years of professional experience. Proficiency in English. 10 years of experience in railway system works, including large-scale underground or elevated metro rail projects (>USD0.5 billion). 5 years of experience as a Resident Engineer (Railway System) in underground metro projects. 2 years of work experience outside the candidate’s home country.
