Job Description We are currently looking for a
Project Financial Controller
to join our M Renewables team in
Milan, part of our Italian subsidiary.
The main mission of the Project Financial Controller is to be the key control of all financial aspects of the project. Main responsibilities include project setup, budgeting, forecasting, revenue recognition, variance analysis, and reporting.
Key Responsibilities
Work side‑by‑side with Project Managers and serve as the Finance Representative on project teams.
Follow up on projects’ budget and report on their financial performance and progress.
Review all costs to date and accrued commitments monthly, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
Prepare revenue projections and forecast overhead expenditure as needed.
Assist the Finance Manager and Controllers with preparing and monitoring budgets.
Maintain and reconcile balance sheet and general ledger accounts.
Assist the Finance Manager with annual audit activities.
Investigate and resolve audit findings, account discrepancies, and issues of non‑compliance.
Prepare federal, state, local, and special tax returns under the supervision of the Finance Manager and the external tax advisor.
Contribute to the development and implementation of accounting systems (SAP, Teamsystem Studio), programs, and procedures.
Perform other accounting duties and support junior staff (2 Accountants and external accounting & tax service providers) as required.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
2+ years of accounting experience.
Good working knowledge of tax laws and both OIC (ITA GAAP) – particularly OIC 23 – and IAS/IFRS, including IFRS 15, IAS 7, IAS 16, IAS 21, IAS 23, IAS 24, IAS 38, IFRS 9.
Strong accounting and tax skills (VAT, withholding tax, CIT, etc.).
Excellent financial analysis skills (management accounting).
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Strong organizational and stress‑management skills – respecting deadlines for tax compliance and reporting calendars in accordance with IAS/IFRS.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
Good knowledge of SAP and Teamsystem Studio.
Ability to manage junior team members and collaborate with controllers and project managers to collect proper information and documentation.
Fluent in English (written and verbal).
