Job Title:Data Privacy Policy Counsel - Ethics & Compliance Career Level:Manager Career Track:Corporate Function Skill Track:Legal Job Summary: Key Responsibilities - As part of the Strategic Initiatives functional group (“tower”) within Accenture’s Global Data Privacy Team, the role has responsibility for our data privacy assessments of ventures & acquisition targets and also oversees post-merger integration activities as they relate to data privacy; - Maintain and enhance our program to assess data privacy aspects during due diligence, including respective due diligence questionnaires, instructing and working with outside counsel and liaising with other internal workstreams (IS, Marketing and Communications, HR, Offerings etc.); - Review material submitted in Virtual Data Rooms, coordinate with outside counsel, interview targets ‘management in order to assess risks and feasibility of the operation, negotiate warranties and representations in the Share Purchase Agreement; - Maintain and further develop deep professional relationships with our ventures & acquisitions and geographic compliance & corporate legal teams to raise awareness of DP risks in a fast evolving area of law; - Support planning for rollout, and implementation of Accenture policies and standards related to data privacy (e.g. identify need for data protection officer function, execution of inter-company agreements, advice on the operations and offerings of targets, etc.); - Effectively manage and work with a team of DP professionals in remote locations, providing advice and guidance in an engaged, business focused and pragmatic manner. Relationships: Reports to: Associate Director or Senior Legal Counsel - Ethics & Compliance, Data Privacy. Key Relationships: - Legal, including Leadership, Ventures & Acquisitions, Sales & Delivery, Geographic Compliance & Corporate; - Corporate Functions and business stakeholders; - Geographic leadership; - Education: University degree (Master or comparable level) - legal. FIP/CIPP/CIPM or comparable privacy certifications strongly preferred. - Work Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in global data privacy function preferably in a major law firm and/or multinational corporation. Roles documenting strong project management and organizational skills would be considered a plus. - Work Requirements: limited travel required as needed (
