BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE OF THE ASSIGNMENT: The World Food Programme (WFP) is the leading humanitarian organization saving lives and changing lives, delivering food assistance in emergencies and working with communities to improve nutrition and build resilience. We are seeking a dynamic Communications & Project Coordination Consultant in the Front Office team of the Human Resources Division. The Human Resources Division is all about people. With a team of about 200 in HQ and a further 550 globally, this function works at the strategic and operational levels to ensure that WFP has the right people in place to deliver on its mandate. The Front Office represents the top management of the HR Division and includes a Strategic Coordination and Communications team lead by the Senior Strategic Advisor. Working in this team, you’ll have the opportunity to gain a bird’s-eye view of people management in an organization of 20,000 people. The role will carry the overall responsibility for high-quality products to the organisation concerning HR topics, and for engagement within the HR and broader WFP communities. The incumbent will use creativity, organisational skills and communications flair, combined with project coordination abilities as well as knowledge of people, to support activities to inform and engage HR focal points and WFP staff globally. ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: 1.Assist in the development, maintenance and enhancement of tools for HR initiatives 2.Assist in planning and executing HR strategies, campaigns and other initiatives/processes both functional and corporate 3.Assist in substantive analyses and content production as well as the development of presentations, reports and documents 4.Produce supporting resources for HR initiatives and deliverables (e.g. infographics and multimedia assets) 5.Assist in planning, coordination, production and follow-up of meetings and events 6.Perform editorial duties for internal HR pages on WFP Go as needed 7.Provide substantive support to other branches within the Human Resources Division, as required and in alignment with corporate or divisional priorities and needs. 8.Recognize and assess the sensitivity of information obtained, respecting the confidential nature of senior level information and sources. 9.Any other duties as assigned by the HR management team/senior colleagues. 10.DELIVERABLES AT THE END OF THE CONTRACT: - targeted resources for HR initiatives including, but not limited to, reports, presentation and other document types, as well as multmedia products - successful organisation and implementation of HR events - update and maintain HR presence on WFPgo - appropriate content development and timely submission of necessary reports and other materials - regularly updated monitoring and reporting tools on divisional/functional requirements QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Education: Postgraduate degree in Human Resources related field (including Human Resources Management, Industrial Psychology, etc). Experience: 3 years demonstrated experience as a successful communicator in a professional environment, including the coordination of complex projects with multiple stakeholders. Experience of working in an international / UN environment Knowledge & Skills: Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) with a specific emphasis on PowerPoint and basic graphic design software. Video editing and multmedia production skills. Project coordination skills. Languages: Excellent command of English; another UN language is desirable.
