EA srl, a proud member of the Alfanar Group, is looking for a highly skilled and experienced MEDIUM VOLTAGE RMU R&D; ENGINEER, with a strong background in designing and developing Medium Voltage Ring Main Units (RMUs) using fuse-switch protection and dry air (SF6-free) insulation technology, ensuring compliance with IEC standards. The engineer will be actively involved in design, 3D modeling, prototyping, manufacturing support, and type testing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and development of Medium Voltage RMUs with: fuse-switch disconnector solutions; Puffer-based switching technology; Dry air insulated systems (SF6-free design);
- Create and maintain 3D models, assemblies, and detailed drawings of RMU components and full products;
- Translate design concepts into practical, manufacturable solutions considering: Electrical performance; Dielectric clearances and insulation; Thermal behavior; Mechanical strength and safety;
- Ensure product compliance with: IEC 62271-1, IEC 62271-200, IEC 62271-103, IEC 62271-105;
- Support dielectric and thermal design of current-carrying parts and insulation systems;
- Work closely with production and industrialization teams to ensure: Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Cost-effective solutions, Smooth transition from design to production;
- Prepare technical documentation: General arrangement drawings, Manufacturing drawings. Bill of Materials (BOM), Technical specifications and reports;
- Participate in and support type testing activities at accredited laboratories;
- Analyze test results and contribute to design improvements and optimization;
- Collaborate with simulation, quality, sourcing, and production teams during development.
