Vanuatu: Temple Security Supervisor — Vanuatu (No Local)

Responsibilities
- Provide an environment where patrons may have a positive and uplifting experience each time they come to the temple.
- Maintain and operate temples at standards established by the First Presidency.
- Protect and secure the sacred and temporal aspects of the temple and other buildings, including the structure, grounds, and ancillary structures; supervise, train, and schedule security personnel; and use appropriate electronic alarms and surveillance equipment.
- Supervise directly all security personnel; schedule and assign personnel to assure proper security coverage.
- Responsible for the hiring, orientation, and training of security employees.
- Recommend procedures and methods to reduce the temple s exposure to theft, vandalism, intrusion, liability, etc.; including installation, calibration, maintenance, and monitoring of electronic alarms and surveillance equipment.
- Assist with inspection of buildings and grounds for safety hazards.
- Be available as needed for emergencies and assure all posts are properly covered; ensure security personnel are trained to give first aid in medical emergencies.
- Supervise checks of buildings and grounds in the event of threats; conduct special investigation assignments.
- Communicate security matters to the building engineer as needed; maintain an incident log and current incident reports.
- Maintain and review payroll time sheets of security.
- Conduct performance evaluations and make recommendations on personnel actions.
- Establish and maintain liaison with local law enforcement and fire prevention officials, with defined communication procedures for emergency situations.
- May perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Four-year degree in law enforcement or related field and two years of law enforcement experience; or four years of law enforcement experience; or a comparable combination of two years of temple security experience and three years of law enforcement or significant security-related experience.
- Two years of significant supervisory experience. Demonstrated leadership skills.
- Some computer skills are preferred. First aid and CPR qualified.
- Experience in using, calibrating, and maintaining electronic alarms and surveillance equipment.
