Elevate Data Center Design and Innovation with Your Engineering Expertise
Key Responsibilities
Lead Civil/Structural design, strategy, product innovation, and development for AWS Data Centers.
Serve as the go‑to engineering resource for the AMER region, providing technical advice on underground services, water infrastructure, drainage solutions, foundations, retaining structures, roads, and other structural systems.
Create, review, and release data center Civil/Structural improvements and designs.
Drive refinements to the Basis of Design, product development, sustainability, and template specifications for Civil/Structural systems.
Develop Civil/Structural design RFPs and manage external consultants through audit, design, and implementation of projects.
Lead initiatives that improve quality, schedule, consistency, and reduce costs on current and future data center construction and improvement projects.
Simultaneously manage multiple build and capital improvement projects while maintaining safety and availability.
Visit project locations in the AMER region to provide subject‑matter guidance to partnering teams.
Positively influence external vendors and consultants to meet requirements and timelines.
Qualifications
Experience reading, interpreting, and creating construction drawings, specifications, and submittals.
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (or Structural Engineering with Civil expertise).
5+ years of professional experience in commercial, warehouse, or industrial new design and remediation with knowledge of conventional civil/structural practices.
Professional Engineer license (preferred).
Experience with applicable building codes and regulations for the region.
Experience in data center or mission‑critical facility design with basic multidisciplinary knowledge of mission‑critical systems and process.
Proficiency with web‑based and other software tools for calculation and data processing.
Compensation and Benefits
The base salary range for this position is USD 116,800 - 160,000 annually.
