Reporting to the Emerging Risks and Risk Assessment Associate Director, this role is based in Parma.Job purposeThis role oversees compliance with food safety regulations related to allergens, develops governance frameworks, conducts risk assessments, and ensures product safety through monitoring and control measures. The individual will guide allergen and toxicological safety, manage internal audits, deliver training, and oversee incident management to protect consumer health and uphold our food safety commitments.Key AccountabilitiesImplement and monitor allergen management systems across all production stages.Ensure adherence to allergen testing protocols and control cross-contamination risks.Manage allergen labeling guidelines to ensure accurate consumer information.Collaborate with teams on allergen considerations in product development and manufacturing.Engage with external bodies to stay updated on allergen management and regulation trends.Coordinate with laboratories and consultants for testing and assessments.Handle allergen or toxicity-related incidents, including recalls and complaints.Develop corrective and preventive actions for food safety incidents.Ensure compliance with local and international allergen regulations.Conduct risk assessments for allergens and emerging risks.Develop policies for allergen control and toxicological safety aligned with regulations.Lead toxicological assessments for new and emerging food safety risks.Review scientific data to identify potential risks from new ingredients or processes.Deliver training on allergen management, regulations, and toxicology to internal teams.Promote awareness of allergen and toxicology issues organization-wide.RequirementsMinimum 3 years’ experience in Quality Food Safety (QFS).Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, Food Science, Food Engineering, or related fields.Experience leading technical teams across business units.Flexibility and adaptability.Strong communication skills to foster collaboration and stakeholder engagement.Fluent in Italian and English, spoken and written.At Barilla, we are committed to creating an inclusive and equitable workplace that values diversity in all forms.
