Driven by continuous growth, our manufacturing location in Bressana, Bottarone (PV), is searching for an Electrical Design Engineer to be part of the research and development team.
The Electrical Design Engineer (Foam Systems – Electrical & Electromechanical Components) is responsible for the design and development of electromechanical components used in foam extinguishing systems, including electrically driven components and devices.
This role requires a technically skilled and innovative engineer with a strong understanding of electrical systems, control interfaces, and system integration in combination with mechanical design. Experience in the fire protection industry, particularly with foam technology, is a strong advantage.
The Electrical Design Engineer develops and optimizes components and assemblies using modern CAD and simulation tools, ensuring integration between mechanical and electrical systems. The role involves creating 3D models, electrical schematic, and documentation to support both internal product development and external manufacturing partners.
The Electrical Design Engineer works closely with project management, electronic specialists, production, product management, and testing teams to ensure that designs meet functional, safety, and regulatory requirements for both mechanical and electrical components.
A structured and analytical approach, combined with attention to details and interdisciplinary collaboration skills, is essential for success in this role.
Main responsibilities:
* Design and develop electromechanical components and systems for foam extinguishing systems, including motors, actuators, sensors, wiring harnesses, and control units.
* Integrate electrical and mechanical subsystems, ensuring reliable interaction between power, control, and hydraulic functions.
* Create and maintain 3D CAD models, electrical schematics, and documentation supporting manufacturing and certification processes.
* Collaborate with mechanical engineers to define electrical interfaces, control logic, and performance parameters for foam proportioning and monitoring systems.
* Support prototype assembly, testing, and validation, analyse test results, and implement design improvements in both mechanical and electrical domains.
* Ensure compliance with relevant fire protection regulations, standards, and internal quality requirements throughout the design and development process.
Qualifications and experience:
* Master’s degree in electrical engineering, or a related technical field, or comparable qualification
* 3 years+ of experience in electrical design and development, automation, or fire protection applications.
* Proficiency in electrical design software and advanced understanding of wiring diagrams and norms
* Knowledge of motor control, sensors, and power electronics, including control interface design and integration with PLC or embedded systems.
* Basic PLC programming with applications for commissioning is a plus
* Experience in the ATEX field would be appreciated
* Experience with testing and validation of electrical systems, including performance, EMC, and environmental testing.
* Collaborative and structured working style, with good communication skills
* Fluent in Italian and English
Personal characteristics:
* Analytical and detail-oriented mindset, with the ability to manage complex electromechanical interactions.
* Proactive and solution-driven, taking initiative to bridge mechanical and electrical design disciplines.
* Team-oriented communicator, capable of working effectively in interdisciplinary and international project environments.
* Eager to learn and grow professionally
Job Conditions:
* Office-based in Bressana, Bottarone (PV)
* Contract type - C.C.N.L. Metalmeccanici (Collective National Contract for mechanical compartment employees)
* The role may require occasional travel for project related meetings.
