The Quality Engineer is responsible for the development, testing and implementation of improvements in quality and food safety programs. The position is responsible for investigating quality and food safety risk areas and taking appropriate action i.e. initiate actions for improvements of product quality and manufacturing processes, work instructions, procedures and work methods. The Quality Engineer provides support for the technology transfer and validation programs and assists in the delivery of training and instructions concerning the quality and validation learnings, work procedures and instructions. The Quality engineer is responsible to ensure conformance with C/P and Hills quality and food safety programs and operational standards.
Key responsibilities include:
:Developing, testing, and implementing improvements in quality and food safety programs.
:Investigating quality and food safety risk areas and initiating actions for improvement in product quality, manufacturing processes, work instructions, procedures, and methods.
:Supporting technology transfer and validation programs, as well as delivering training on quality and validation.
:Ensuring conformance with C/P and Hills quality and food safety programs and operational standards.
:Monitoring CAPA/non:conformance programs, troubleshooting quality issues, and optimizing current quality performance.
:Assisting in implementing legislative and corporate food safety standards, HACCP, GMP, and regulatory initiatives.
:Analyzing Quality KPIs and participating in continuous improvement programs.
Required qualifications:
:A B.A./B.S. degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Engineering, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Biology or a related field.
:Basic proficiency/experience with statistical process control, metrology, HACCP, GMP, basic microbiology, and quality auditing.
:1:3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the food / pet food industry with a focus on food safety.
:Proficient knowledge of HACCP, cGMPs, and SPC, along with excellent interpersonal, communication, critical thinking, and computer skills (Google Suite, Microsoft Office, SAP).
