Position Overview
We are seeking a Software Safety Assurance Engineer, based in Bologna, Rome, or Bari (with 10 days/month of smart working).
Role and Responsibilities
The selected candidate will report to the Regional Center Safety Manager and will be responsible for managing, performing, and ensuring safety assurance activities across various projects, defining and delivering safe solutions. Key responsibilities include:
1. Coordinating all safety assurance activities on projects;
2. Performing safety analyses, managing hazard logs, and reviewing engineering activities from a safety perspective;
3. Defining safety plans and managing safety workloads and schedules;
4. Supporting tenders and teams to integrate products into projects;
5. Building safety reports and safety cases;
6. Applying safety assurance methodologies;
7. Participating in and contributing to safety reviews;
8. Defending safety case arguments before internal and external assessors;
Additionally, follow-up actions will be needed to address findings from assessors.
Educational and Professional Requirements
* Advanced university or engineering degree;
* 1-2 years of experience in safety assurance roles within industries such as automotive, medical, aerospace, or railway;
* Good knowledge of safety standards (preferably CENELEC or equivalent, e.g., AREMA, IEEE) and safety methodologies and principles;
* Ability to interact effectively with stakeholders in an international environment;
* Resilient and proactive attitude.
