OverviewHead of Music, India, Prime Video and Amazon MGM Studios — Mumbai, India. We are seeking a Music Executive (Head of Music, IN) to join the dynamic global music team for Amazon MGM Studios. This role manages a team and oversees all music needs associated with the Studios' Original Series (Scripted and Unscripted) and Amazon Original Movies (AOM) across multiple Indian languages.This role will be an integral part of the global music team and requires experience in movie music production and supervision, leveraging robust knowledge of music and a strong network in the Indian entertainment and music industry to drive successful projects.Key job responsibilitiesOversee music supervision / curation of designated productions across languages on behalf of the studio.Read scripts and coordinate with various internal and external stakeholders to assess the scope of music (songs + score) in screenplays.Recommend key music hires (music composers, supervisors, singer‐songwriters, etc.) as per script requirements.Work closely with internal stakeholders for management and tracking of music budgets, talent deals, scoring process, music delivery, and music licensing for designated productions.Utilize a deep understanding of music licensing for film and TV to ensure the success of projects.Manage and track music delivery requirements of projects as per milestones.Partner effectively across internal divisions (Content development, Business Affairs, Production, Legal, Marketing, social media, Monetisation team, etc.) and with external partners using excellent communication skills.Work with music label partners in the region to seek wide release for soundtracks.Collaborate with marketing teams to identify and develop music marketing opportunities for title promotions.Assist marketing teams with licensing / curating music for various marketing campaigns.Basic QualificationsExperience managing multiple projects, prioritizing, planning, and managing time.Experience managing teams.Experience in movies & TV distribution / licensing.5+ years of music programming, music supervision, editorial, or A&R experience.Experience working at a record label, artist management company, artist talent agency, or similar field within the music industry.Master's degree or above.12+ years of full-time experience working as a music supervisor at a film studio / TV production house or with a music composer or as an A&R at a record label.Thorough understanding of the India music business and music rights management.Avid interest in music with a deep understanding of mainstream and new age music.Preferred QualificationsThorough understanding of India music business and music rights management.Our inclusive culture empowers Amazonians to deliver the best results for our customers.
