Descrizione

Nautilus offers a portfolio of products and services focused onFlight Dynamics. We support the full mission lifecycle, from early mission design and trajectory definition to precise navigation and in-orbit operational support, leveraging proven heritage acrossLEO, lunar, and deep-spacemissions.

At the core of our offering are two key products: EON and NEMO. EON is a technology suite enablingautonomous navigationandcollision avoidance, paving the way for next-generationself-driving satellites. NEMO is anon-ground flight dynamics software suite, featuring dedicated Collision Avoidance and Space Situational Awarenessmodules, and extended capabilities including precise orbit determination, trajectory design, maneuver optimization, station keeping, and more.

In addition, Nautilus provides operational Flight Dynamics services, covering mission analysis, navigation, and operations support. To enable robust validation and test campaigns, we also operate CubeDynA, a ground test facility for closed-loop testing of ADCS subsystems for CubeSat platforms up to 16U.

Job Description

We seek passionate innovators to help realize this vision, specifically an Electronics Engineer to join our electronics engineering team and to coordinate and contribute to the development activities of electronics for innovative onboard technologies designed for autonomous satellite guidance and navigation. The position is mainly application-oriented, focused on practical design and development activities, while also offering significant opportunities to contribute to R&D initiatives aimed at developing innovative technologies for next‑generation satellite systems.

Your role will include leading the design, development, integration, and testing of advanced Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs) and FPGA-based solutions for spacecraft onboard systems. You will significantly impact the development of next‑generation autonomous satellite platforms, collaborating closely with flight dynamics, software and systems engineering teams to integrate hardware solutions effectively into mission architectures.

Key Responsibilities

- Space Electronics Design: Lead the design and development of circuits and PCBs for spacecraft avionics systems and terrestrial navigation applications, from initial architecture to final layout, ensuring compliance with mission‑specific requirements and ECSS standards. Select space‑qualified components, ensuring maximum reliability in extreme orbital environments (radiation, vacuum, thermal cycling, and vibrations). Contribute to the design of innovative edge technologies for onboard processing and autonomous systems, enabling advanced in‑orbit capabilities for next‑generation satellite platforms.
- Technology Development and Manufacturing Roadmap: Define technology maturation and manufacturing roadmaps for onboard electronic subsystems, ensuring compatibility with industrialization processes and progression through all TRL stages up to TRL 9.
- Testing and Qualification: Define and oversee functional and environmental testing of hardware. Prepare electronics for space qualification campaigns (vibration, thermal‑vacuum, EMI/EMC) and analyze test outcomes to validate designs.
- Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Collaborate closely with systems engineers, software developers and GNC (Guidance, Navigation & Control) teams to ensure seamless hardware/software integration into autonomous spacecraft systems. Contribute to critical subsystem architectural decisions, aligning hardware solutions with mission requirements.

Required Skills and Experience
- Education: Master’s degree in Electronic Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Telecommunications, or equivalent.
- Experience: Minimum 2–3 years of practical experience in electronic hardware design, preferably with exposure to space applications. Candidates with slightly less experience but strong technical foundations and relevant project work are also encouraged to apply. Demonstrated capability across the hardware development lifecycle, from requirement analysis to testing and integration, is highly valued.
- Space Electronics Experience: Experience in space‑related projects and/or PCB design for space applications is highly desirable. Familiarity with the space environment, environmental testing, technical reviews, and reliability‑driven design (thermal management, power optimization) is welcome. Exposure to flight or high‑TRL hardware is beneficial but not mandatory. Proven expertise with ECSS standards.
- FPGA: Advanced skills in FPGA design and programming are highly welcome, including VHDL/Verilog and synthesis tools.
- Digital circuits design and simulation tools: Strong capabilities with Altium Designer (or equivalent tools), simulation tools (e.g., SPICE), and embedded systems hardware‑software co‑design.
- Excellent analytical problem‑solving, technical leadership, and mentoring skills.
- Proficient in technical English, both written and spoken.

What We Offer
- Flexible Work Environment: Enjoy a 50/50 split between in‑office and remote work, with flexible start and end times to suit your daily rhythm. Additionally, take advantage of up to 6 weeks per year to work remotely from outside your usual geographic location.
- Impactful Work: Play a direct role in shaping the future of space technology and advancing breakthrough solutions for orbital and deep‑space missions.
- Professional Growth: Accelerated career progression with clear paths toward technical leadership roles, supported by rapid salary growth aligned with your performance, impact, and increasing responsibilities.
- Cutting‑edge Environment: Opportunity to join a dynamic, rapidly growing company working on groundbreaking space missions (lunar to deep‑space exploration). You’ll access advanced technologies and contribute directly to pioneering space projects.

Join Nautilus and play a leading role in shaping autonomous satellite navigation for the future of space exploration!
