**SUMMARY OF ROLE
The Life Sciences Sales Consultant is responsible to provide support to Outside Sales by identifying the best solution to customers’ needs.
He is the front-end person towards Italian customers, responsible to issue the proposals (processed with the support of Cluj and Pune Hub) in line with high quality standards and responsiveness assuring a local, competent, direct and easy communication channel with customers.
**SPECIFIC JOB RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Proposal Ownership & Responsibility from design to cost estimate and proposal issue auditing customer quotations technically accurate, on time and commercially verified
- Customer site surveys
- Solutions Architect Responsibility: provide advice on technical solutions and benefits.
- Discuss and clarify with customers requested scope versus offered scope in order to improve quality, suitability and fitness of solution
- Proposal Deliverables and Generation: prepare customer quotations technically accurate and on time, commercially verified, offering the best all-round solution
- Proposal Estimates: full ownership of materials estimates, services estimates, other costs as applicable, proposal strategy and DOA Costing
- Follow-up on quotations with customers and internally (business and execution systems) as agreed with Outside Sales.
- Assure high quality information handover between Sales and Project Execution team when customer purchase orders are received; operate proper update and closure of quotation in the estimating tool and business systems.
- Participate in kick-off and review meetings, internal and with customers, to clarify scope, technical aspects and strategy alignment
- Solutions and Application Knowledge: attend relevant technical and commercial trainings as required to maintain a high level of product and process knowledge, including new products as and when released.
- Comply with local and international Emerson Trade Compliance and Quality Management procedures, as well as the Emerson Ethics policy, with respect to all business activities.
- Other responsibilities as reasonably required.
**REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE**
- DCS background is mandatory
- Life Sciences Industry knowledge, needs and relative language terms, is a plus but not mandatory
- Degree in Engineering Discipline or equivalent in a relevant engineering field, electronic, electrical, energy or automation is preferred
- Proven background in proactive selling
- Capable to understand customer need and to develop technical requirements and specifications
- Ability to work within a complex matrix organization
- Minimum of 2 years relevant work experience in same role
- Fluent Italian & English language skills (verbal, reading and writing)
- Available to travel and spend almost 20% of his time at customer site
- Any other European language skills are beneficial
