Reflexallen Group, one of the leader in the automotive field is looking for a Commodity Buyer.
Role
Commodity Buyer is responsible of identifying and maintaining suppliers relations, selecting new suppliers and negotiate commodity prices, frame agreements and contractual conditions such as development and delivery lead-time, frozen/flexible/forecast delivery schedule and MOQ/MDQ quantity. He/She works in collaboration with Regional and Group buyers/resources to develop and execute sourcing plans.
Main responsibilities
1. Set-up, lead and support for local improvement activities like (supplier selection, negotiation frame contracts, cost-analysis, make-or buy analysis etc.) in a sustainable and customer-oriented way;
2. Search and negotiation with suppliers, competitors and companies of our Group for new products MAKE / BUY;
3. Search of new source for already-in-portfolio products;
4. Coordinates launch / RFQ / whole purchasing process, technical approval and quality ’til first order;
5. Development, coordination and implementation of our purchasing strategy (standards, tools, supply-chain management, interfaces, communication);
6. Collaboration with other departments such as Technical Office, Quality, Supply Chain and Operations;
7. Secure transparency of cost-structure on material and suppliers.
8. Implementation and adaptation of standards for all purchasing processes, secure reliability and sustainable documentation of purchasing processes, according to ISO requirements.
9. Rationalize the supplier panel
10. Manage supplier QCD Performance and optimize supplier performance including continuous improvement
11. Apply global strategy according to local needs
Activities
12. Define and lead the Commodity Strategy responding to the plant(s) needs (actual and future) and develop cost reduction initiatives with suppliers to meet year over year financial requirements of the business.
13. Define supplier mapping & supply flows, technology mapping, competition risks, know-how & technology shifts, Purchase Amount trends, shortage Impacts, etc.)
14. Drive and monitor selection process of new suppliers, from identification of potential suppliers, first contacts, to qualification, audits, assessments & contracting up to the validation of process.
15. Define the Sourcing Plan including Supplier Reduction (SuRe) plan, nomination of a Core Panel Target Supplier, analysis of their competences, capabilities & QCD levels and potential development.
16. Prepare required documentation for supplier meetings or negotiations. Prepare presentations to management for sourcing selection;
17. Collaboration with other departments such as Technical Office, Quality, Supply Chain and Operations;
18. Secure transparency of cost-structure on material and suppliers.
Skills
19. Technical High School or Degree in Economics or Engineering;
20. 3/5-year experience in automotive, household electrical appliances or similar industries;
21. Previous experience in Plastic Injection Moulding and/or Fittings;
22. ERP knowledge (Microsoft Dynamics AX as a plus);
23. English: B2 level minimum;
24. Office: advanced;
25. Modena/Bologna residence;
26. Strong negotiation skills;
27. Strong organizational skills;
28. Ability to work successfully in a multicultural organization;
29. Excellent skills and experience in contract negotiation and price negotiation in a manufacturing environment;
30. Strategic thinker and implementer of effective tactical plans;
31. World-wide availability to travel.
