About this position We are looking for a strategic and qualified professional to join our Resource Mobilization Division (REM). The position requires a thorough knowledge of socio-economic development challenges in Latin America and the Caribbean, and professional experience in sovereign sustainable debt, international financial architecture, or risk-sharing mechanisms. The REM Division, under the Global Partnerships Office (GPS), leads IDB Group’s efforts to expand its capacity to serve the region through partnerships that provide financing, knowledge, and innovation. The division develops new partnerships and enhances existing ones, working closely with various teams across the IDB Group and its subsidiaries. The GPS office includes the Resource Mobilization Division (REM), Grants and Co-financing Management Unit (GCM), and offices in Tokyo (Asia) and Madrid (Europe). What you’ll do The successful candidate will participate in efforts to implement the new Impact strategy, focusing on: Expanding strategic alliances and stakeholder engagement in coordination with offices in Europe and Asia, and GCM. Identifying potential partners such as governments, companies, foundations, NGOs, and development actors for innovative partnerships. Structuring internal collaborations with relevant departments for partnership agreements involving financial instruments like guarantees, hybrid capital, and balance sheet optimization. Providing guidance to position the IDBG as a preferred development partner. What you'll need Master’s degree or equivalent in Business Administration, Finance, International Development, Economics, or related fields. At least 4 years of experience for Specialist, 5 for Senior Specialist, in sovereign debt management, capital markets, or structured partnerships within multilateral organizations. Experience in Latin American and Caribbean capital markets or development finance. Proficiency in Spanish and English; knowledge of French and Portuguese is a plus. Requirements Citizenship of one of IDB’s 48 member countries. Relocation and visa support may be provided. Type of contract and duration International staff contract, initially for 36 months, renewable upon mutual agreement.
