We are currently supporting a cutting-edge photonics semiconductor company in the search for a Senior Technician / Equipment Engineer to join their growing team.
This is a highly hands-on position within a small-scale, advanced manufacturing environment, focused on equipment operation, maintenance, and reliability. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting daily fab activities while also interfacing with suppliers and contributing to technical projects.
Key Responsibilities
* Operate, monitor, and maintain semiconductor manufacturing equipment and supporting facility systems.
* Perform hands-on troubleshooting and root cause analysis to resolve equipment issues.
* Execute preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
* Support equipment installation, qualification, relocation, and upgrades.
* Collaborate closely with process engineers to ensure equipment performance and process stability.
* Interface with external vendors and service providers during maintenance and repair activities.
* Support the management of suppliers, service contracts, and external maintenance services.
* Contribute to technical projects related to equipment improvements and installations.
* Manage spare parts and consumables, ensuring availability of critical components.
* Maintain technical documentation, maintenance records, and procedures.
* Ensure compliance with EHS standards, safety regulations, and cleanroom protocols.
* Participate in continuous improvement and reliability initiatives.
Requirements
* Technical diploma or degree in Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
* Proven hands-on experience in semiconductor fabs, pilot lines, or cleanroom environments.
* Strong troubleshooting and maintenance experience on complex equipment.
* Basic knowledge of semiconductor processes (CMOS knowledge is a plus).
* Experience working with external suppliers and service engineers.
* Familiarity with maintenance procedures, spare parts management, and documentation.
* Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive, hands-on mindset.
* Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
* Good communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.
* Intermediate level of English (written and spoken).
Position Overview
* No direct team management responsibility.
* Involvement in supplier coordination and service activities at an operational level.
* Contribution to technical projects (execution and coordination).
* Strong focus on hands-on technical activities within the fab environment.
