IBA Proton Therapy
As a Field Service Engineer in Proton Therapy, you will play a pivotal role in installing, maintaining, and repairing IBA equipment at our Humanitas Proton Therapy Center in Rozzano. You will deliver reliable and high‑quality service within defined timelines, collaborate with a team of five, and travel for training and support as needed.
Mission To treat cancer patients by ensuring the proper operation of IBA equipment and systems, delivering excellent product reliability and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
Technical ownership of a site subsystem according to area competencies
Maintain and troubleshoot equipment, dealing with electrical, mechanical, and software matters
Test and repair equipment/systems in accordance with technical specifications
Upgrade and improve systems in collaboration with the R&D; department
Ensure the highest quality of state‑of‑the‑art technologies and services
Propose solutions that improve equipment reliability, stability, and operability
Prepare and set up equipment/systems for daily clinical operations
Operate equipment and provide technical support to medical staff during daily operations
Maintain daily reports of activities, maintenance execution, and incidents in the appropriate IT tools
Maintain adequate records as defined by the specific facility
Direct contact with internal and external clients
Maintain third‑party equipment (TPS, OIS, various gating systems)
Qualifications
Technical bachelor’s or master’s degree in electronics, mechatronics, automation, or telecommunications
Alternative: Technical high school diploma with solid experience in industrial maintenance, installation, and troubleshooting of electrical equipment
Good verbal and written communication skills in Italian and English
Strong analytical and logical reasoning skills for root cause analysis
A broad technical interest and motivation for hands‑on work
Basic to medium level of IT knowledge for first‑line system administration interventions
Customer‑oriented, proactive, and hands‑on
Able to follow rules and regulations and deliver on strict deadlines
Eager to learn new fields and continuously update knowledge (electronics, software, hardware, beam physics, medical applications)
Team player with strong interpersonal skills
Flexible and willing to work rotating shift work (morning, afternoon, late afternoon, night, weekend)
