Overview The Senior Investigator role at Baker Hughes is a remote position responsible for conducting internal investigations, communicating results in writing, and recommending corrective action to protect the company and ensure adherence to the code of conduct, policy, and law. The successful candidate will work remotely conducting investigations in all countries where the company conducts business. Responsibilities Conduct investigations of allegations raised through the Open Reporting program related to violations of the code of conduct, company policies, or law. Review, scope, and build an investigation plan for escalated employee complaints, disputes, and claims related to the code of conduct, policy, regulations, or law. Perform forensics review of available evidence. Interview relevant witnesses and subject matter experts. Summarize investigation findings in writing and collaborate with Subject Matter Experts, Legal, local HR, and the business to ensure comprehensive review and documentation. Partner with labor and employment counsel, business leadership, and HR to determine appropriate corrective actions. Monitor incoming case volume daily to manage workload and ensure timely completion of investigations. Identify ways to prevent or reduce similar allegations through additional procedures, training, and communications. Use sound judgment to mitigate risk and form fact-based opinions; consult Legal prior to formal recommendations where appropriate. Multitask and prioritize urgent needs. Other duties or project work may be assigned. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university or commensurate relevant experience. At least 10 years’ experience with internal investigations or equivalent law enforcement experience. Experience in HR, Finance, Security, Legal, or compliance organizations. Ability to quickly learn company policies, processes, and tools. Desired Characteristics Strong listening, interviewing, counseling, and writing skills.
