We are looking for a Mechanical Project Designer willing to join our Melt Shops Team, with strong passion for technology and motivation to work within a multicultural and challenging environment. You will work in an international environment characterized by high technology complexity. - Design in 2D and in 3D format, as mandatory skills. Consider customer requirements, timing target, quality and reliability targets, cost optimization and design for manufacturability in all new equipment design; - Prepare layouts showing to Client how and where the equipment will be installed in their plant; - Develop all mechanical aspects of a project; prepare and/or verify basic and detail engineering, both internal and external, according to the level of responsibility; - Estimate, during basic engineer phases, the weights for structures/equipment to better fit and optimize with the technical design requirements. Develop bills of materials; - Perform the basic/detail engineering elaboration about input data received (from Project Engineer, Mechanical Dept. Manager, Process Engineer, R&D dept., Proposal dept.); - Manage engineering external studio, taking responsibility too as timing and schedule proper progress; - Design equipment in compliance with all applicable regulation; define the project standard specification in cooperation with the Project Engineer as well as with Contract targets; - Understand, develop and review design of civil works for the installation of the machines; - Perform, if necessary, on‐site inspections from site surveys up to the ascertaining of the document "as built". - Perform and review basic/detail engineering. Convert 2D drawings into 3D models and creation of drawings from 3D models and their verification analysis (ex. FEM); - Detailed knowledge about the most important manufacturing processes adopted in mechanical industry in order to choose the most appropriate manufacturing procedure; - Participate, when necessary, to inspections and meetings at suppliers/ sites/ production/ customer/ manufacturing premises; - Generate scope of work specifications that define the work included, work excluded and battery limits along with technical requirements for each equipment package or components; - Manage and supervise the execution of tasks, which have been outsourced. Requirements: - Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Mechanical Design or Secondary School Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (with at least 5 years of experiences); - Experience in mechanical design is a must; - Knowledge of Autodesk software as AutoCad and Inventor is a must; - Knowledge of the main technological transformation processes for the production of semi-finished products (CNC milling, sheet metal bending, laser cutting, welding, ecc); - Steel Industry knowledge and experience (at least 3 years) is a plus; - Knowledge of Autodesk Pro.File software is a plus; - Good Knowledge of CAD and FEM software, Ansys/Nastran/Recap/Inventor/AutoCad/Navisworks preferably; - Experience with 3D / 2D CAD and technical calculation methods; - Effective knowledge of English language; - Knowledge of the most advanced PC tools (MS Excel, MS Word, ecc); - Willingness to travel; - Collaborative approach, team working and problem solving skills, flexibility, critical thinking and “Can do” attitude; - Good coordination and planning skills.
