Within the Group Chief Sustainability Office function, we are looking for a talented and proactive resource to join the team.
Key Responsibilities
* Helping shape Generali’s position and approach on emerging sustainability trends to capture opportunities and anticipate risks for the current strategy cycle and beyond
* Detecting emerging sustainability trends and drive thinking on how sustainability matters should be incorporated across our business functions
* Developing strategies and initiatives to reduce the company's carbon footprint
* Conducting research and analysis on sustainability & ESG trends including climate change, social resilience, and workforce transformation
* Contributing to the Group’s knowledge and positioning on relevant sustainability topics beyond climate such as biodiversity and AI
* Monitoring and reporting on sustainability metrics and progress towards goals
* Engaging with stakeholders, including employees, investors, suppliers, and partners to promote sustainability awareness and practices
* Staying updated on relevant regulations, policies, and best practices on sustainability and climate
* Preparing and presenting reports, proposals, and presentations on sustainability projects and achievements
Requirements
* Course work in Sustainability, ESG Strategy, Climate Studies, or a related field
* 8-12 years total experience, of which 5 in sustainability, climate change, ESG, or strategy consulting
* Strong understanding of sustainability principles, key trends and technologies, and governance practices
* Experience working in or supporting financial services organizations (insurers, banks, etc.) on their sustainability strategy and implementation
* Understanding of key sustainability trends and technologies (e.g., electric vehicles, renewable energy, nature & biodiversity, etc.)
* Understanding of current sustainability regulations and how they impact business practices
Preferred (not necessarily required)
* Master's degree in sustainability, business, or actuarial sciences
* Experience with sustainability regulations and standards (e.g., CSRD, SFDR)
* Knowledge of renewable energy technologies and practices
Soft Skills
* Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills
* Effective communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
* High level of proficiency with quantitative analysis (e.g., using Excel) and developing presentations for communications purposes (e.g., using PowerPoint)
