Work Location - Brindisi - Expected duration - 6 monthsResponsibilities: - The United Nations Global Service Centre (UNGSC) provides critical Supply Chain, Geospatial, Information and Telecommunications Technologies services and Training to all peacekeeping and special political missions around the world as well as to other UN Offices, Agencies, Funds and Programs. This Internship is located in the Digital and Compliance Unit (DCAU) within the Service and Information Security Management Section (SISMS), under the Service for Geospatial, Information and Telecommunications Technologies (SGITT) at UNGSC in Brindisi. The Intern will report to the Chief of the Unit. The intern will support the team on the “Enhancement of Vulnerability Management through the Installation of Tenable Agent” Project, contributing to the goal of enhancing security visibility, risk mitigation, and automation within vulnerability management. Tasks will include: 1. Support Vulnerability Management Operations: a. Assist in tracking, analyzing, and mitigating vulnerabilities using Nessus Tenable. b. Contribute to prioritizing risk-based remediation actions. 2. Support Security Dashboards: a. Build interactive dashboards for real-time tracking of vulnerabilities, compliance, and security incidents. b. Use Power BI to enhance security data visualization. 3. Contribute to enhancing data Analysis and Reporting: a. Assist in the Automation of data collection and processing for security risk assessments. b. Assist in generating actionable reports and insights to support decision-making. 4. Leverage Generative AI for Security Operations: a. Research and support the implementation of AI-driven tools for automated vulnerability analysis. b. Explore predictive analytics and AI-powered reporting for security intelligence. 5. Contribute to Improve Documentation and Standardization: a. Help to update and maintain vulnerability management policies and reports. 6. Support the Development of standardized AI-assisted templates for reporting and compliance tracking. - Qualifications/special skills - Languages - English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. Fluency in spoken and written English is required for the internship. Knowledge of an additional official UN language is an advantage.
